AROUND JAIPUR

Abhaneri
The step well

This is the biggest stepwell of Rajasthan which was built by Raja Chand in 9th century and it is 19.8 mtr deep and many old statues are lying in the premises of this place. There is a temple of 'Harshat Mata' built in the same period having very well carved statues around the platfarm over which it is built.

This is 86 km. from Jaipur in East near 'Bandikui' where day trip is organised in a car with packed lunch.

Harsha Mata Temple

Potters in Baswa

This place 'Baswa' is near Abhaneri and can be covered along with it in a day trip. The whole area around Jaipur gets its clay pottery from this village.

It is 15 km further away towards Alwar on a state Highway

Somada- a hubble -bubble making village
This also is near Abhaneri (86 km. east of Jaipur) where two families have been making Hubble-Bubble for local use for few generations.

Bhan Garh
Bhan Garh, a haunted kingdom, is located about 75 km. in the East of Jaipur where day trips are organised with packed lunch in a hired car.
This Kingdom called Bhan Garh was suddenly deserted in 15th or 16th century. Local belief is that this happened because of paranormal activities which took place here due the desire of a 'Tantrik' to marry extremely beautiful queen in which he could not  succeed and was killed so he cursed the kingdom before dying.
