3-Day Jaipur Itinerary from a Family Homestay
Three days is enough to see Jaipur’s highlights without rushing — if your base is quiet, central enough, and someone can help with taxis and timing. This plan is written from Sneh Deep Guest House, a family-run budget homestay in Jaipur in Sethi Colony, about a 10–15 minute drive from City Palace and Hawa Mahal.
Use it as a flexible outline for couples, families and first-time visitors. Adjust ticket times with our monument tickets guide when you book.
Before you start — a calm base helps
Many guests try to pack every fort into one day and finish exhausted. A better approach:
- Keep Amber Fort on its own morning
- Do old-city monuments on a second day
- Leave day three for local food, markets or a cooking class
- Return each evening to a quiet guest house — not a noisy bazaar hotel
For more on choosing that kind of stay, see our guide on where to stay near City Palace & Hawa Mahal.
Day 1 — Amber Fort & north Jaipur
Morning
Start early for Amber Palace (Amber Fort), about 20 minutes from Sneh Deep by cab. If you have energy, walk or take a short ride up to Jaigarh Fort for views over Amber town. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water — mornings heat up quickly.
Afternoon
Stop at Jal Mahal for photos on the way back into the city. Rest at the guest house, then an early evening walk or rooftop tea.
Tip
We can arrange a reliable cab for the Amber circuit — see car rental in Jaipur or ask at reception the night before.
Day 2 — Old City: City Palace, Jantar Mantar & Hawa Mahal
Morning
Head to the Pink City core: City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the exterior (and, if open for your ticket type, interiors) of Hawa Mahal. These are typically around a 10-minute auto or cab from our homestay — ideal for a full morning without a long transfer.
Afternoon
Explore nearby bazaars for textiles, jewellery and snacks. Keep valuables close in crowded lanes. Return for a late lunch or home-style vegetarian meal on prior request.

Day 3 — Local flavour: cooking, Galta Ji or museum
Choose based on your energy:
- Rajasthani cooking class at the guest house — learn home-style dishes and eat what you cook (cooking classes in Jaipur)
- Galta Ji (Monkey Temple) — short drive, lively and photogenic
- Albert Hall Museum and Ram Niwas Garden — calmer indoor option for hot afternoons
Evening: street food nearby, packing, or an early night before your onward train or flight. We can help with transport tips — see transport in Jaipur.
Quick packing & booking tips
- Book rooms early in peak season (Oct–Mar weekends and holidays)
- Carry sunscreen, a light scarf and cash for small shops
- Confirm monument entry rules for foreign / Indian nationals in advance
- Ask us for a full-day city tour if you prefer not to plan each taxi yourself
